7 ways to empower women and girls | World Vision

There’s a lot of talk about the global movement aiming to empower women, but actions always speak louder than words. There are some things we can all do that will be worth more than just discussions and verbal support. Reach out to those who find themselves in crisis. Perhaps this help can happen through vocational training, medical and financial help, or some other initiatives that will help break the vicious circles of poverty and violence stemming from gender difference and stereotypes.

Key Takeaways:

  • Instead of attending school, females around the world spend 200 millions per day getting water that is actually dirty and dangerous for their health.
  • You can support girls who are in crisis’ such as child labor, abuse, and child marriage by helping get them out of those situations.
  • Invest in a small business owner that is a female as it can help them make a big impact in the world and also can help you make a difference in someone elses life.

“Reach out and influence the life of a girl in your own community by volunteering as a tutor or mentor. One way to establish a mentorship is through Big Brothers, Big Sisters.”
