This involves the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring, or receipt of persons. Traffickers often move victims across borders or within countries.

2. The Means of Trafficking

Traffickers use threats or force, deception, coercion, abuse of power, or exploitation of the vulnerable. These means ensure the victims cannot escape their control.

The Purpose of Trafficking

The ultimate goal of trafficking is exploitation. This includes forced labour, sexual exploitation, and domestic servitude. Exploitation generates significant profits for traffickers.

Vulnerabilities and Victims

Traffickers prey on those who are vulnerable or desperate. Targets are People seeking a better life. Traffickers exploit economic instability, lack of education, and social isolation. Victims may be promised good jobs, education, or better living conditions. Once trapped, they face harsh realities and are forced into exploitation.

Global Impact and Response

Human trafficking is a severe violation of human rights. Millions are affected worldwide. Governments, international organizations, and NGOs work together to combat this crime. They aim to prevent trafficking, protect victims, and prosecute traffickers.

Raising Awareness and Taking Action
